New Communications from the Board
Traverse City: March, 2010. As of the latest meeting of the TC Area Emmaus Board, new members will be assuming the responsibilities for the Communications, newsletters, and Website of this illustrious organization. Tina Dane, Dawn Mcqueer, and Sherry Wild will be taking over the responsibilities for these areas brom Pastor Paul E. Kuhlman, who has assumed them for the past several years. The transition will take place just as soon as the new team can get an board with all the information and ekeys connected with these areas. So, as the webmaster for several years, this is my last message to you. It has been fun, a lot of work, and I hope helpful to all of you, beloved members of the Traverse Area Emmaus Community.
Handbooks can be returned
Traverse City: February, 2010. Members the TC Area Emmaus Board have expressed concern that many of the handbooks for the walks need to be returned. Remember, the handbooks that are given out for talks, and the give the order of the walk for those who sit at the staff table cost the community money that could be spent on other things, when we have to buy new ones. So, if you have a handbook or talk outline that could be returned, get them back to a board member as soon as you can.
Women's Walk a Spiritual Success
Traverse City: February, 2010. The recent Women's Walk was a great success, for the Holy Spirit. If you attended Candlelight or Closing you know from the words of the pilgrims that their lives were changed dramatically from the efforts of the Spirit through the faithfulness of the TC Area Emmaus community. A special thanks to the board for their efforts and leadership to make this walk a reality, and we give thanks to God for bringing the pilgrims to us that needed to be there. But that is one more chapter that is closed for the board and they begin planning for the fall walks. The work of the sponsors, however, is not over. Make sure that our newer members have a 4th Day group to attend, that they volunteer for the upcoming walks in October and November and that they become actively involved in the mission and ministry of their respective congregations.
Women's Walk a Go!
Traverse City: February, 2010. The team is in place and we have 26 pilgrims for the Women's Emmaus Walk for 2010. Though the male members of the community did not respond with a sufficient number of male pilgrims for their walk, the women came through with a respectable number of pilgrims for their walk. The team is fired up, and Thursday, February 25th, the walk begins. Praise God!
Men's Walk 2010 Canceled
Traverse City: February, 2010. So sorry to have to announce that the 2010 Men's Walk has been canceled as of February 12. We are all saddened for such a decision, but so few men had signed up as pilgrims that the board decided to cancel the walk. Though the team worked diligently in preparation for the event, we need to always remember that our duty is to remain faithful and let God worry about the success. More importantly, in eveything there is a purpose that may be only God alone to know at this time We give thanks that we were able to serve the time He called us to serve.
New Community Lay Director
Traverse City: January, 2010. We are happy to announce the election of a new community Lay Director, Sherry Wild. Sherry has served faithfully on the board the last year as the Assistant Lay Directore. Her energy is well known, and her service is most visible. We thank the Holy Spirit for bringing her to us as our Lay Director for 2010.
